Privacy policy
Meeteor is built so that we see as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what we do collect, through this website and the app, and why. Meeteor is a service of Many Software Enterprises LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we", "us").
The short version
- The Meeteor app keeps your projects, documents, recordings, transcripts and notes on your computer. We never receive them.
- If you use cloud AI, the app sends the parts a request needs directly to the provider you chose, with your own key, under your account with that provider. We never see those requests.
- The app has no account, no analytics and no telemetry.
- This website keeps what you give us in its forms, the details of a purchase, and a short technical record of each form request. It sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics.
The Meeteor app
On your computer. Projects, sources, call audio (only if you turn on audio retention), transcripts, summaries, notes and settings are stored in a folder on your computer. You can export or delete them at any time from the app.
AI and transcription providers. Depending on the privacy mode you choose, the app sends data to the providers you configure with your own keys: in Hybrid mode, transcript excerpts and matching passages of your sources to your AI provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI); in Cloud mode, call audio to your transcription provider as well. Local mode sends nothing off your computer. Those providers process the data under their own terms and privacy policies, which you accept with them when you create your key. The app's Transparency Center lists every request it makes.
API keys are stored in your operating system's credential store and never sent to us.
Model downloads. When you download models during setup, the app connects to the hosts that serve them (such as Hugging Face and GitHub), which see your IP address as with any download.
Meeteor Cloud (in development) will sync your projects between your devices and your team. Data will be encrypted on your device before it is uploaded, with keys we do not hold; we will store only the encrypted data and the metadata needed to sync it (for example account identifiers, device names, sizes and times). We will update this policy before it launches.
This website
Beta and waitlist sign-ups: your email address, what you signed up for, the time, your IP address and country, and the device, operating system and browser your request came from. We use them to run the beta list and to keep out abuse.
Contact form: your name, email, company, topic and message, with the time, IP address and country of the request, to answer you and keep out spam.
Founder purchases and reservations: payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details under its own privacy policy; we do not receive your card number. We receive and keep your name, email, country, what you bought, the number of seats and the amount, to deliver your license, provide support and meet tax and accounting obligations. Seat reservations keep your email, the option you chose, and the IP address and country of the request.
Beta downloads: we count downloads by time, version and country. We do not record your IP address with a download.
Cookies and storage: the beta download area sets one cookie to remember that you entered the beta password; it expires after a week. Your theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Hosting: the website runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests (including IP addresses) to serve and protect it.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run this website and our payments (Cloudflare and Stripe), when the law requires it, or as part of a transfer of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
How long we keep it
Sign-ups and contact messages until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed; purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires; failed beta password attempts for a short period to prevent guessing.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to its use. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California law) you may have further rights, including to complain to a data protection authority. Children
Meeteor is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new date, and tell license holders by email about significant changes.
