Terms of service and license
These terms are an agreement between you and Many Software Enterprises LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we", "us") for the Meeteor app, Meeteor licenses and pre-orders, and this website. By downloading, installing, buying or using Meeteor you agree to them.
1. Licenses
Free. You may use Meeteor without a paid license within the limits of the free edition (currently 5 calls a month, 25 documents and 3 projects), for your own use.
Paid licenses. A Pro or Team license gives one named person (a "seat") a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the major version of Meeteor it was bought for (for example, Meeteor 1), together with the minor releases and security patches we publish for that major version, on the computers that person uses. It is not a lifetime license: it does not include later major versions, support or Meeteor Cloud. Team licenses are bought for at least 3 seats and may be reassigned within your organization when someone leaves.
Major versions, updates and upgrades. We release a new major version about every 18 months. Minor releases and security patches for a major version are included in its license. We publish security patches and compatibility fixes for a major version, including for changes made by AI providers, for at least 12 months after the next major version ships; after that you may keep using the version you bought, without further updates. A new major version is a separate, optional purchase, offered to license holders as a discounted upgrade.
Support and Meeteor Cloud. Support and Meeteor Cloud are sold separately, per seat and per year, and are not required to use Meeteor. A license includes neither. The help center at meeteorai.com/help is free for everyone.
Restrictions. You may not resell, sublicense or rent Meeteor, remove its notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
2. Founder pricing and pre-orders
Founder prices are discounts on the list price, available for a limited number of seats per platform in the order purchases complete; when a tier sells out, the next tier applies. Founder prices apply to the major version bought, not to future major versions; the next major version is offered to founders at the same discounted upgrade price as other license holders, except where an offer says otherwise.
macOS pre-orders are charged at the time of order and delivered when Meeteor for macOS is released. You may cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before delivery. If we do not release Meeteor for macOS, we will refund every pre-order in full.
Founder Cloud is a prepaid first year of Meeteor Cloud, which is in development. Your first year starts on the day Meeteor Cloud launches. You may cancel for a full refund at any time before launch, and if it does not launch we will refund you in full. Renewals at the founder rate continue for as long as you renew without a gap.
3. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe; prices are in US dollars and may exclude taxes. You can request a refund of a Windows license within 30 days of purchase, and of a pre-order at any time before delivery, through the contact form. A refunded license ends.
4. Beta software
Meeteor for Windows is currently in beta. Beta software may contain errors, change without notice, or lose data; keep backups of anything important, using the app's backup feature.
5. Your data and AI providers
Your content stays yours. The app processes it on your computer and, if you choose, with third-party AI and transcription providers using your own accounts and keys. Your use of those providers is governed by your agreements with them, and you are responsible for their charges. See our privacy policy.
6. Your responsibilities on calls
You are responsible for using Meeteor lawfully. Laws on recording, transcribing and monitoring conversations differ by place and some require the consent of everyone on a call; you must give any notice and obtain any consent the law requires. You may not use Meeteor where its use is prohibited, for example in exams, assessments or interviews whose rules forbid outside assistance, or to deceive the people you are speaking with.
7. AI output
Meeteor shows information drawn from your sources and generated by AI models. It checks quotes against your sources and labels unverified answers, but it can still be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important before you rely on it. Meeteor does not give legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.
8. Disclaimers
Except as stated in these terms, Meeteor is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Meeteor in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using Meeteor at any time. We may end these terms for a material breach that you do not fix within 30 days of notice. Sections 5 to 11 survive.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law where you live gives you the right to sue at home. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these terms; changes apply to purchases and use after the date above, and we will tell license holders by email about significant changes.
