Security, without
the fine print.
Meeteor is built so that we never hold your calls. This page says exactly how the app and this website handle your data, what we don't have yet, and how to report a problem.
Where your data lives
On your computer. Meeteor has no account and no server that stores your projects, so there is nothing of yours for us to lose.
| Projects, documents, transcripts, summaries | A folder on your PC (%APPDATA%\Meeteor) |
|---|---|
| Call audio | Not kept, unless you turn on audio retention for a project |
| Request details for the Transparency Center | On your PC, with keys removed; kept 30 days by default, and you can set 0 |
| AI and transcription keys | Windows Credential Manager, never in files, logs or the database |
| App logs | IDs, sizes and timings only; no transcript or document text |
| Usage data sent to us | None: no telemetry and no analytics |
You can back up everything to one file, export a project, or delete it, from inside the app.
What leaves your computer
You choose a privacy mode, globally or per project. Requests go straight from your computer to the provider you chose, under your own account. They never pass through us.
| Mode | What leaves the PC | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Local | Nothing. The app blocks every connection that isn't to your own computer. | Nowhere |
| Hybrid | Transcript excerpts and the matching document snippets. Transcription stays on your PC. | Anthropic or OpenAI, with your key |
| Cloud | Call audio, plus transcript excerpts and snippets | OpenAI for transcription; Anthropic or OpenAI for cards, with your keys |
What your provider does with a request is set by your agreement with them, including any data retention options they offer.
How the app protects it
- One door to the network. Every outgoing connection goes through a single gate in the app. In Local mode the gate refuses anything that isn't your own computer, and logs the attempt as blocked.
- Every request on the record. The Transparency Center lists each request the app makes: where it went, what it carried with keys removed, and what came back.
- The interface can't reach the internet. The app's window is locked down by a content security policy; only the core of the app talks to providers.
- Hidden from screen share. The overlay is excluded from screen capture, so Zoom, Teams, Meet and screenshots don't show it.
- Documents are data, not instructions. Text in your documents and transcripts is labelled as data in every prompt, and the live AI has no tools that can act on anything.
- Quotes are checked. A quote is shown as sourced only after it's found in the document or transcript it cites.
- Nothing joins the call. Meeteor listens on your own computer. No bot appears on the guest list.
What we don't have yet
- Encryption at rest by Meeteor. The database isn't encrypted by the app yet. Turn on BitLocker or Windows device encryption to protect it, as you would for any local files.
- Code signing. The beta installer isn't signed yet, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning. The download page lists the file's SHA-256 so you can check it's ours.
- Automatic updates. New versions are downloaded and installed by hand.
- Certifications. We don't hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001, and we don't sign HIPAA business associate agreements.
This website and payments
- Checkout is Stripe's. Payments happen on Stripe's own pages. We never receive or store your card number.
- Orders are verified. Our server accepts a purchase only from Stripe's signed notification.
- No trackers. No analytics and no third-party scripts. A strict content security policy lets pages load files from this site only, and every page is served over HTTPS.
- What we keep. Sign-ups, messages, reservations and orders (name, email, country), stored with our host, Cloudflare. The privacy policy has the details.
Compliance
Because the app keeps your data on your computer and calls AI providers with your own account, your existing device controls and your provider agreements cover most of what an audit asks about. For this website, Many Software Enterprises LLC is responsible for the personal data described in the privacy policy.
Recording and transcription laws differ by place. Telling the people on a call is up to you, and our terms ask you to follow the law where you and they are.
Report a vulnerability
If you find a security problem in the app or this website, tell us through the contact form and choose Security report. Please include the steps to reproduce it, and give us reasonable time to fix it before you share it publicly. We don't run a bug bounty, but we'll credit you if you'd like.
